I know, I know.  Most of you may cringe at talking about doing an enema!  For many people, thinking about this is very uncomfortable (figuratively and literally).  However, if I’ve learned anything over the years studying health and wellness -- if we are to be well, we must be very observant of our bowel movements.

Growing up I thought that having a bowel movement every three days or so was normal.  I thought that having to strain to have a BM was normal. And while it may be “normal” for people, it is in no way healthy.

One of my favorite ancient physicians, Hippocrates, said, “All disease begins in the gut,” over 2500 years ago!  Think about it, when you have fecal matter sitting in your gut (your colon) rotting, this can only have damaging effects on your health.  You must be having 1-3 bowel movements a day, and even then, it’s a good idea to go one step further and do an enema.

One of my favorite types of enemas (and yes, I’ve done enough to have a favorite!) is a coffee enema.  Now, I’ve never drank coffee, but I do buy organic coffee for my enemas! Coffee enemas are a great detoxifier for the liver, the bloodstream, and the body in general.  In holistic medicine, they are used to treat many illnesses and diseases including, but not limited to, cancer, Candida, parasites, liver toxicity, digestive disorders, and constipation.

Coffee enemas have been shown to help in many ways including detoxifying the body, increasing antioxidants in the body, helping with constipation (although this should not be only used to treat constipation -- constipation is the sign of a deeper problem that needs to be addressed), and fighting cancer.

Coffee enemas - get ‘em in ya!
