Out of the 4 main types of cinnamon which are available around the world, I consider Ceylon cinnamon (from Sri Lanka) to be the best (highest quality). Ceylon cinnamon a spice which is high in antioxidants—which slow down my aging process. The antioxidants found in Ceylon cinnamon are mainly polyphenols, phenolic acid, and flavonoids.
Ceylon cinnamon helps to boost my memory and cognitive function; just smelling cinnamon can help make me more alert and focused.
Ceylon cinnamon contains anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, and anti-viral properties that can reduce inflammation in the body and kill microorganisms such as staph, botulism, aflatoxin mold, E. coli, and flu germs.
Ceylon cinnamon is also very beneficial for lowering bad cholesterol, while helping to regulate blood sugar. It is also known to help increase circulation as it contains anti-clotting compounds.
Ceylon cinnamon is known to help prevent and shorten the duration of the flu, and it can also work to eliminate congestion and mucus from the body.
It is also said that Ceylon cinnamon contains substantially less coumarin than the other varieties of cinnamon; making Ceylon cinnamon a more liver-friendly option.
This is one spice I use daily, as part of my flu preventative practice, and my longevity lifestyle.
