Those adorable kiddos pictured above are my babies in 2010 when we lived in Texas. I do miss those bluebonnets every spring! How adorable is Graham's expression? He used to do this look of trying not to smile. Oh my heart!
Are you ready for spring? Like it or not, most of us sprang forward last weekend (I see you Arizona, and know that you don’t observe the time change:). How is everyone else doing with the time change?
For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, this coming Saturday is the first day of spring for this year. And of course, for the Southern Hemisphere, it’s the first day of fall. Years ago I remember learning that spring actually used to be called Lent, or the Lenten season. This came from the Old English lengten, which means “to make longer or greater”. The days were getting longer and greater during this time of the year…. makes sense! And back then, because there was no electricity, it was a vital part of their day-to-day lives to have more sunlight. Then, in the 14th century, this time of the year started to be called “springing-time”, for obvious reasons. Over time, it got shortened to spring.
Here’s another bit of trivia for you — March begins on the same day of the week as November and ends on the same day of the week as June every year. That’s cool to me!
In celebration of this season, we have put together some fun packages!
