Who around here grew up playing games? I’m talking board or card games here, Folks. Can I get an Amen? If you’ve never played games, now is the time to start! It will change your life. Seriously. To qualify, it must be a game that doesn’t require a device of any sort. It must be a card or board game, or something like hide and seek. Put down the phone and spend some quality time with the hubs, kids, dogs, whatever! And play some games. Here are some of my favorites:
Balderdash: Can. Not. Stop. Laughing when I play this game. (This gets me to the snorting laugh phase...do you feel me?)
Phase 10: My hubby and I used to play this when it was just the two of us and we made up “Phase 20”. Fun times!
SkipBo: All time favorite. (Do not listen to my husband if he tells you that I always win. Not true.)
UNO: The original version, please. Favorite as a kid and a fav to play with the kids.
Yahtzee: Good times as a kid! I loved rolling all the dice.
Mahjong: Some friends of ours who had lived in Korea taught us this with their authentic set (no plastic here!). Nothing compares to those times, Matt & Bethany!!
My sister-in-law, Michelle, recently introduced us to Speak Out. Oh my. This almost takes over my Balderdash laughing. Especially when playing with my Mother-in-law.
What are some of your favorites? Go home and have a game night with the fam! It’ll do you a world of good. I suggest a game to make you laugh as laughter, as we know, is the best medicine (except if you have diarrhea)!
