Linden Flower (Tilia)
I like linden flower because it's excellent for detoxifying and purifying my liver, as it contains choleretic properties. It also works very well for chronic bronchial issues. Linden flowers are also very effective for digestive issues. As a tea, this medicinal flower has been used for centuries to help reduce hypertension and headaches. Linden flowers also have calming and sedative properties that can help prevent insomnia and produce a restful night’s sleep. This medicinal flower also has diaphoretic and fever reducing properties which makes it an excellent remedy for colds, flu, and respiratory infections.
So what other sort of symptoms or conditions would I use Linden flower for?
If I suffered with tension headaches or high blood pressure, linden flowers and leaves would be making their way into my herbal infusions. Linden flower is a soothing nervine that relaxes tension, and reduces blood pressure. If I was dealing with asthma, emphysema, COPD, gastritis, dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, or gall bladder problems—Linden flower would be making its way into my body.
If I was struggling with edema, water retention, bloating, or swelling, linden would be part of my healing protocol, as linden works as a natural diuretic. If I was experiencing anxiety, stress, irregular heartbeats, or indigestion, I would likely use this herb blended with other medicinal herbs such as meadowsweet and California poppy.
