It is well known for its relaxing properties and uses in aromatherapy, and it has powerful medicinal effects that heal skin irritations and wounds while preventing infection. Lavender also helps lower and maintain blood pressure, aids in digestion, relieves bloating, and treats many skin related issues. Is there anything this gentle, yet powerful plant can’t do?

Alkanet is a bright blue/violet colored plant with fuzzy leaves. When dried, the roots can be made into a powder and used as a dye. Along with being a natural dye, alkanet can be used to soothe skin irritations and heal burns and scars.
Alkanet root also protects the skin from infection and is known to help relieve inflammation. It can soothe eczema and is a detoxifier for the skin because of its astringent properties.
We use wild harvested alkanet root powder in our Organic Lavender Soap Bar. This means that the crop is not grown in a farmed area and is usually far from populated areas, so it has an extremely low risk of being sprayed with pesticides.
Often, products that are wild harvested are better than organic ones because they’ve grown in natural conditions.
