Lemon Verbena & Lemon Balm

Lemon Verbena:

Lemon verbena is particularly good for the nervous system. It can help relax the nerves and muscles, calm the mind, alleviate depression, ease anxiety, and provide a general overall feeling of peace. Lemon verbena can also help to lower oxidative stress levels, and better the overall health of the body. Oxidative stress is a result of free radical activity and their presence throughout our body’s organs, which weakens the immune system. If you are suffering with chronic stress, you’ve already weakened your immune system--which is why I like to bring in lemon verbena, to help lower oxidative stress levels, as to not completely run down the entire immune system. Lemon verbena is idea for those with nervous afflictions or chronic stress, as it can ease the mind and calm the body.  

Lemon Balm:

Lemon Balm has been used for centuries to combat sleeplessness while encouraging a restful sleep, plus it can assist those who have difficulty falling asleep. This medicinal herb has powerful antibacterial effects that can strengthen the immune system against everyday infections, plus other compounds and antioxidants which can also reduce oxidative stress throughout the body, thus relieving strain on the immune system. With its impressive ability to balance hormone levels and calm anxiety and nerves, lemon balm has always been one of my go-to herbs at naturally combating insomnia--despite this herb also having the ability to stimulate focus and optimize memory (and you all know how much I love to nurture my noodle). The soothing qualities of this medicinal herb make it extremely beneficial for those who experience interrupted sleep patterns.
