These are a few of the herbs which I use in my herbal infusions that I take to the gym. *Please note, this kit contains all three of these herbal blends.*
Schizandra berries help to increase my physical endurance and stamina. They also contain incredible adaptogenic properties-- which means they actually help balance my body’s stress hormones, and normalize organ function during times of mental, emotional, physical, or environmental stress. This unique ability protects my body from intense stress damage and helps to provide a more resilient endocrine, immune, and central nervous system. They are also phenomenal for sharpening my mental focus, enhancing my memory skills, and increasing my clarity and concentration.
Ashwagandha is a medicinal herb that has some incredible adaptogenic properties as well. Its medicinal compounds can significantly reduce stress related conditions (even physical stress). It is also an effective immune boosting herb that has the ability to increase my white blood cell count, and prepare my body to produce antigens to fight against different infections, or allergies. I also like ashwagandha because it’s excellent for improving the function of my brain and neurotransmitters, as well, this medicinal herb helps to increase my endurance and strength while training.
I like American ginseng because it’s a stress reducer and energizer. It also contains adaptogenic properties which helps regulate my body’s stress responses, and helps to balance my body. American ginseng is traditionally used to combat the effects of fatigue and stress. It’s also really helpful as an enhancer for my mental and physical performance while being an overall general health tonic. American ginseng also helps to support my adrenal glands and kidneys, while also containing potent antioxidants which help to boost my immune system too.
Despite its name, ‘Siberian Ginseng’, it’s different from American Ginseng (Panax quinquefolius), as it has different active chemical components. The active ingredients in Siberian ginseng, called eleutherosides, are known to stimulate my immune system. Siberian ginseng has been used in China & Russia for thousands of years to enhance the body’s vital energy, restore memory, and prevent colds and flu. It is still extensively used in Russia to help the body adjust to stressful conditions and to boost productivity inside the body. In addition to all the above, I appreciate Siberian ginseng because it also helps to increase my endurance and mental performance (just like American Ginseng). Siberian ginseng can improve the overall function of my cardiovascular system, while lowering my blood pressure, and increasing my circulation.
Rhodiola rosea is also an adaptogenic herb which optimizes my body and my mind. (I bet you are noticing a trend here 😉 ) Since it’s an adaptogenic herb, it can also help me cope with all forms of stress, whether it’s physical, emotional, or environmental. This adaptogen helps to increase my focus, physical endurance, and it gives me sustained energy throughout my day. Rhodiola is actually one of the best herbs I can use in order to improve my energy levels! It even has the ability to reduce the amount of mental and physical fatigue that I could experience from stress.
Tulsi contains anabolic properties that act as a steroid, which is most notably known as anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS). The leaves of this healing herb have a natural steroidal androgen like testosterone. These anabolic elements increase my protein within my cells, most notably in my skeletal muscles. The Antiarthritic properties of Krishna tulsi also helps to enhance my protein synthesis and my strength. Krishna tulsi is also a powerful nervine tonic that helps to strengthen my nervous system. It also helps to improve my immunity by promoting the production of antibodies, while fighting against any foreign invasion into my body.
I should note, I use all 3 of these blends while I’m at the gym. I consume the Rhodiola, Tulsi, and Ginsengs as my pre-workout and intra workout blends, and the Schisandra and Ashwagandha as an intra workout and post workout blend—with an added 5g of L-Glutamine (AOR) mixed in for muscle recovery.
